A new member has joined the Carroll County Board of Elections, and a new chairman has been elected.
At a meeting June 3, the board accepted the May 13 resignation of Valerie Gardner of the Leavittsville precinct, who served as board chairman, and appointed Ron Mayle of Minerva, to succeed Gardner.
AD
Tom Postlethwait, who represents the Union Township precinct, was elected board chairman. Both Mayle and Postlethwait were sworn in by Carroll County Municipal Court Judge Gary Willen.
The board also conducted the May 5 primary/special election audit, which resulted in 100% accuracy, according to Director of Elections Deloris Kean.
