Modern Auto and Truck Parts opened its new, larger location in Carrollton May 1, bringing expanded inventory, improved efficiency and a more modern shopping experience while continuing a decades-long tradition of serving the community.

The business is now located in the former Rite Aid building at 340 W. Main St., Carrollton.

Manager Brendon Rogerson said the move was driven largely by the need for space to meet the demands of today’s auto parts industry.

“Mostly, a modern-day parts store requires larger inventory levels, and the extra space in the new location will allow us to expand our inventory to better serve the community,” Rogerson said. “Additionally, more space for parking and a more well laid out storefront benefits both employees and customers by helping make our operation more efficient.”

The business, a NAPA Auto Parts store, had operated for more than 60 years at its previous location, formerly known as Carson’s Auto Parts. That site has now been sold, and the business has fully transitioned to the new building.

“We are not keeping the old building,” Rogerson said. “The old properties have been sold to local individuals that will operate their respective businesses out of them.”

The new location offers several upgrades, including a larger showroom, expanded office space and improved parking and access, particularly for customers with larger trucks and trailers.

“More space, better parking, larger showroom, bigger offices, improved curb appeal and an increase in operational efficiency,” Rogerson said.

Those changes are expected to directly benefit customers, especially as inventory levels continue to grow in the coming months.

“Yes, the inventory level will increase significantly over the next few months,” Rogerson said. “It allows us to get parts to the customer faster by being less reliant on warehouse orders and special orders.”

He said the expanded space will allow the store to stock more parts on-site, reducing wait times and improving service for both retail and wholesale customers.

“More inventory available directly at the store and a brighter, more well laid out showroom help improve the customer experience,” Rogerson said.

While the building has changed, Rogerson emphasized that the store’s mission remains the same.

“Staying local and continuing to strive to be a business that offers essential goods and services to the community will always be the focal point of our operation,” he said.

That commitment builds on a long-standing reputation for customer service.

“I have always believed that our people are what set us apart from other businesses in this industry,” Rogerson said. “We have a knowledgeable, experienced and motivated staff that aims to provide a high level of ‘old school’ customer service to both retail and wholesale customers.”

Modern Auto and Truck Parts serves a wide range of customers, including automotive, heavy-duty truck, agricultural, industrial and oil and gas industries. The store works to position itself as a resource for both parts and solutions, drawing from the NAPA supply chain as well as a network of outside vendors.

“Our goal at Modern Auto Parts is to say ‘no’ to our customers as little as possible,” Rogerson said. “If we can’t fulfill a request, we’ll do our best to point the customer in the right direction.”

Rogerson said the new facility will only strengthen that approach.

“We are most excited about being able to serve the community better and have a beautiful new storefront to operate out of,” he said. “There are and will be a ton of operational improvements to increase inventory and efficiency, which will directly impact the increased level of service we strive for.”

He added that customers will likely notice those improvements right away.

“I hope they notice the increased level of both organization of the inventory and the level of the inventory itself, making their shopping experience both easier and faster,” Rogerson said. “We aim to make the new location attractive and inviting to all types of customers.”

Modern Auto and Truck Parts continues to serve Carrollton and the surrounding area as part of a network of locations that includes Cadiz, Magnolia, St. Clairsville, East Liverpool and Wheeling, West Virginia.
