Minerva FFA members recognized at recent banquet
More than 220 members and guests attended the event, which highlighted the chapter’s strong participation in Career Development Event
Recognition of student accomplishments across agricultural competitions, leadership and service, along with the introduction of a new slate of officers for the upcoming year, highlighted the recent 92nd annual banquet of the Minerva High School FFA chapter.
More than 220 members and guests attended the event, which highlighted the chapter’s strong participation in Career Development Events. Students competing in the Food Science and Technology contest at Norwayne High School were recognized, including Elizabeth Battin, Kali Bettis, Bradyn Conner, Natalie Essick, Colton Godsey, Aubrie Lawson, Makyla Mountz, Wyatt Stauffer and Autumn Thompson.
In dairy judging, participants honored for their efforts included Hazel Hahn, Zachary Norris, Wyatt Pflugh, Lance Thompson, Andrew Walker, Alice Whiteleather and Ava Whiteleather.
Soil judging competitors Gabby Lupshu, Wyatt Stauffer and Ethan Weaver were also recognized for their performance in evaluating and classifying soil profiles.
The chapter also celebrated its top fruit sales participants, with Collin Amelung earning the top seller award and Ryker Collins finishing as runner-up.
A large group of members received recognition for their dedication to community service, reflecting the FFA’s commitment to leadership and service.
Degree advancements were another key part of the evening. Eighteen students were awarded the Greenhand FFA Degree, while 23 members earned the Chapter FFA Degree.
Enoch Brodzenski and Rachel Weaver were recognized for achieving the State FFA Degree, and members earning the American FFA Degree were Lillian Kugler and Ella French.
The Eric T. Eddy Memorial Scholarship was presented to Autumn Thompson, who plans to study biology at Marietta College.
The banquet concluded with the installation of the 2025-26 officer team. Newly elected officers include Natalie Essick, president; Wyatt Stauffer, vice president; Wyatt Pflugh, secretary; Ethan Weaver, treasurer; Hazel Hahn, reporter; Bradyn Conner, sentinel; Maryssa Genet, historian; and Emma Catlett, parliamentarian.
Outgoing officers shared reflections and advice, encouraging members to stay engaged and take advantage of the opportunities FFA provides.
“With continued success in competitions and strong student leadership, the Minerva FFA chapter looks forward to another impactful year,” said FFA Chapter Adviser Kyle Lucas.
