Save the date for Hartville’s Art in the Park celebration June 6
Annual event will feature artists, live entertainment and Heritage Gateway dedication
Historic Downtown Hartville will once again come alive with creativity during the third annual Art in the Park event, which brings the community together with local artists, makers, musical performers and culinary talents while also marking the official dedication of the Heritage Gateway.
The free public event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Art in the Park celebrates arts and culture through demonstrations, hands-on activities, live performances and local food and drinks. Organizers said this year’s event will culminate with the dedication of the newly completed Heritage Gateway, a public gathering space featuring a steel pavilion, public art installation and engraved commemorative pavers honoring community support.
“The goal has always been to create a lasting landmark that celebrates Hartville’s heritage while enhancing the experience of residents and visitors alike,” project manager Michelle Cutler said. “We’re grateful for the community’s support and proud of the story this gateway tells.”
The Heritage Gateway dedication ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. adjacent to Workman’s Auto Parts and Hartville Elevator Co. Community members who purchased commemorative bricks are encouraged to attend, locate their pavers and take photos.
Art in the Park activities will include a local artist gallery featuring paintings, photography, ceramics and other artwork, along with live music, interactive art demonstrations and food trucks.
Additional activities will include a children’s flower art activity hosted by Art from the Hart, Mahjong lessons with Tracy Dawn Brewer of Brewtifully Art Studio and visits from the Stark Library Bookmobile.
“Now in its third year, Art in the Park has become a popular event where our community can engage with local art, music and culture, and this year we can celebrate the exciting completion of the Heritage Gateway,” said Chip Weisel, president of the Lake Township Chamber.
Public parking will be available at Lake Elementary School and other designated downtown lots.
