Bids to be opened June 8; project completion set for October
At their meeting May 8, rescheduled from May 11, Lake Township trustees accepted the 2026 paving plan and authorized publication of the bid notice. In other business, Hartville Village Councilman Tim Hayden addressed the board about the village’s strategic plan. He said it is a communitywide plan involving the village, the township and Lake Local Schools. The group meets monthly, working on projects including paid internships for high school students with local businesses and planning for America’s 250th anniversary. Board President John Arnold said trustees are excited about the plan and thanked Hayden for attending.
In discussion about a ditch enclosure without a permit previously addressed April 27, trustees passed a resolution authorizing township legal counsel to notify property owners that any ditch enclosures without required permits must be restored to original status.
Trustees agreed to purchase a tri-band handheld radio for the road department from VASU Communications Inc. for $4,625.95.
The board rescheduled the annual Records Commission meeting to May 22 at 2:40 p.m., immediately before the regular meeting.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a hearing May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Township Hall.
Trustees approved total expenditures of $62,777.55.
The meeting was streamed on Facebook Live and was open to in-person public access. The video may be viewed on the township’s Facebook page. Questions may be submitted by email to info@laketwpstarkco.com.
