Uniontown Lions Festival returns with car show, parade and fireworks
Four-day community event Aug. 19-22 will feature popular Friday night car show, live entertainment, rides
The Uniontown Lions Club will host its 31st annual festival Aug. 19-22 at the HRM Complex adjacent to Hartville Marketplace. The event raises funds to support the club's community service and outreach programs.
This year's festival theme is "Liberty & Justice for All." Grand marshals are retired Maj. Larry C. Shubat, U.S. Army, and Dennis K. Boley, chairman of the Uniontown All Veterans Memorial Committee. The two were selected in recognition of their service and dedication to preserving the freedoms and values represented by the festival theme.
A highlight of this year's festival will be the car show, scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 21. The popular event will showcase a variety of classic, custom and specialty vehicles and is expected to draw car enthusiasts from across the region.
Festival activities also include carnival rides, food vendors, craft and product vendors, nightly live entertainment, bingo, games of chance and twice-nightly 50/50 drawings. A parade will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 22, and the festival will conclude with fireworks at 10:30 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to save the dates and join the community celebration.
