Roscoe Village to host Ohio history talk
Author Dan Rager will present 250 years of Ohio transportation history June 13 at the Roscoe Village Visitors Center in Coshocton
The Roscoe Village Foundation and the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum invite the public to an exploration of Ohio’s transportation heritage during a presentation titled Ohio: Gateway to America (1776-2026) at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Roscoe Village Visitors Center.
The program will feature Dr. Dan Rager, author of “Ohio Gateway to America: Ground Transportation 1776-2026,” who will guide attendees through 250 years of Ohio’s transportation history. Through stories, historical photographs and maps, Rager will examine how the movement of people and goods helped shape Ohio and the nation.
From Native American trails and stagecoach routes to canals, railroads and modern highways, the presentation highlights the evolution of transportation and its impact on communities across the state. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how past innovations continue to influence travel and commerce today.
Books will be available for purchase following the presentation, and Rager will be on hand to sign copies.
The event is open to the public and will be held at the Roscoe Village Visitors Center in Historic Roscoe Village.
