After graduating from Conesville High School, Shirley continued her education at Kent State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She was a faithful member of the Conesville United Methodist Church since 1938. She enjoyed researching genealogy, particularly during her retirement years, following and attending sporting events, and helping on the family farm. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and took great joy in bringing loved ones together, especially through hosting family reunions.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Lori (Gary) Hogue of Adamsville, Greg (Deanna) Vickers of Conesville, Jeff (Lori Sigrist)Vickers of New Philadelphia, and Polly (Bernie) Maple of West Lafayette; her 10 grandchildren, Mark (Ricky Klinehoffer) Hogue, Andrew (Lacey) Vickers, Matthew (Alyssa) Vickers, Michelle (Josh) Stevens, Katie (Stephanie Barr) Vickers, Sarah (Sam) Greenlee, Sam (Haven) Vickers, Will (Ashton) Vickers, Michael (Emma Greene) Vickers, and Emily Maple; her 16 great-grandchildren, Garrett Hogue, Bryce Hogue, Kynlee Barr, Kaiden Barr, Hayden Stevens, Haddox Stevens, Isabella Vickers, Peyton Vickers, Nora Vickers, Anderson Vickers, Evie Vickers, Perry Vickers, Clara Greenlee, Mabel Greenlee, Elsie Greenlee, and Audrey Vickers; and one great-great-grandchild, Sutton Israel, alongside several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene, Robert, and Rodney Albertson, and her sister, Karen Shroyer.
The family wishes to offer a special thank you to Shirley’s caregiver, Renelle Bible, whose kindness, compassion, and devoted care meant so much to Shirley and her loved ones.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Chapin officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
