A historic postcard recalls the Knights of Pythias hall above a longtime Holloway store that changed hands several times before closing
This postcard depicts the Knights of Pythias building on Main Street in Holloway. The postcard is from the collection of Mary Holiday Puskarich.
According to Glenn Helter's book, "Holloway Old Timers Reminisce," the building's second floor hosted meetings, dances, school plays and other community events. Tom Walker's department store and meat market occupied the first floor.
Clyde Fisher of Flushing later purchased the business from Walker. W.O. Kennedy subsequently purchased the store from Fisher and operated it until his retirement. Mac and Fay Humphrey then took over the business and operated it for about one year before it closed permanently.
