ODOT projects to affect Harrison County traffic

State Route 149 will close June 8 in New Athens for 21 days, while work continues on U.S. 22 and state Route 212

The following Ohio Department of Transportation construction projects are expected to affect traffic in Harrison County. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 149 closure: Starting June 8, state Route 149 will close just south of the state Route 149/state Route 9 intersection in New Athens for 21 days for a culvert replacement project. Traffic will be detoured via state Route 331 west to U.S. Route 22 east, U.S. Route 22 east to state Route 519 east, state Route 519 east to state Route 9 south, state Route 9 south back to state Route 149, and reverse.

U.S. Route 22 major pavement rehabilitation: Work is underway on a project to remove and replace nearly 4 miles of pavement through the four-lane section of U.S. Route 22 from the two-lane section west of Cadiz to just west of County Road 13, Upper Clearfork Road. One lane of traffic will be maintained throughout construction. Ramp closures may occur during construction.

State Route 212 culvert replacement: Work is underway to replace a culvert just west of the state Route 212/state Route 151 intersection in Bowerston. No traffic impacts are associated with the work; however, there may be flagging when equipment is moved to and from the job site. The completion date is Sept. 30.
