Harrisville Methodist to hold Legacy Wall event
Participants may write a name, scripture, prayer, blessing or memory or leave a child’s handprint
Harrisville Methodist Church is offering current members, past members and others connected to the church an opportunity to inscribe names, prayers, scriptures and blessings on the framing of the new sanctuary before the walls are closed.
The Legacy Wall event will be held Saturday, May 31, following the 11 a.m. service. Markers will be provided, and all ages are welcome.
Church leaders are extending a special invitation to anyone connected to Harrisville Methodist Church, including those who were married or baptized there, grew up in the church, sang in the choir, attended Vacation Bible School or found peace and comfort within its walls.
“These walls will one day be covered,” church leaders said, “but what is written on them will remain for generations to come. Future families will worship in a sanctuary literally built upon the prayers and love of the people who came before them.”
Participants may write a name, scripture, prayer, blessing or memory or leave a child’s handprint. Every mark will become a permanent part of the spiritual foundation of the church.
A brief video invitation is scheduled to be released on social media Thursday to help spread the word.
The church encourages people to share the announcement and tag former members, friends and others connected to Harrisville Methodist Church.
The event is free. For more information, visit the Harrisville Methodist Church Facebook page.
Harrisville Methodist Church is located at 49355 US Route 250, Harrisville.
