Deersville fire department introduces K-9 Hawkeye
The public can meet Hawkeye and Hall at the Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department Fireman’s Fair
The Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department introduced its newest member, Hawkeye.
Hawkeye is a 19-month-old Dutch shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix specializing in area search, tracking and human remains detection. Hawkeye and his handler, Assistant Chief Kevin Hall, have completed their training and received national certification.
They are now available to respond to emergencies for the Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department, all Harrison County departments and neighboring counties. Hawkeye brings crucial capabilities to the community, aiding in locating missing persons and providing closure for families.
The public can meet Hawkeye and Hall at the Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department Fireman’s Fair from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23. The event will include a food stand and fish fry, cake walk, parade at 3 p.m. and a firefighters water battle after the parade.
