Mancel Clayton Roahrig
WARSAW- Mancel Clayton Roahrig, 91, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
He was born July 9, 1934, in Birds Run, OH to the late Clayton Albert and Iva (Sharrock) Roahrig. He married Marilyn (Hawthorne) Roahrig on June 26, 1993, who preceded him in death Oct. 26, 2015. He was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
Mancel was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed it more than anything and loved being out in his fields. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and trapping, and he was also a train enthusiast. He liked collecting all kinds of clocks, weather stations, & pocket watches, arrowhead hunting and finding other ancient artifacts.
He is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Shirley Layman of Utica; a nephew, Brad (Dee) Beaver of Dublin; niece, Beth (Walid) Gemayel of Worthington; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Marvin Haught officiated. Burial followed in Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. FischerFuneralHome.com
