Gary Shroyer
Gary R. Shroyer, 82, of Coshocton passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Morrison Hospice House in Zanesville. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio, on November 22, 1943, to the late Henry “Gene” E. and Helen L. (Conner) Shroyer.
A proud graduate of Conesville High School, Gary dedicated his career to General Electric, where he spent many years as a diligent maintenance worker, earning the respect of his colleagues and embodying the values of hard work and commitment.
Gary cherished his family, marrying his soulmate, Becky (Ochsenbein) Shroyer, on December 23, 1978. Their love story was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual admiration.
Gary was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR and dirt track racing. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was mowing the yard, watching the deer and squirrels that visited his home, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
His grandchildren were a source of great joy for him; he took pride in their accomplishments and enjoyed creating lasting memories with them.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Becky, and their children: Scott (Natalie) Shroyer, Sheri (Shawn) Shaw, Matt (Rachel) Shroyer, and Kristy (Jason) Bryant. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Justin (Joanna) and Dusty (Kristan) Shroyer, Beau (Danielle), Seth, and Cory (Anisha) Richesson, Victoria and Kenzie Shaw, Logan (Carly) and Landon Shroyer, and Zachary (Liberty) and Zane Bryant, along with 11 cherished great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Carol Duncan, Cecil (Judy) Shroyer, and Marlene (Joe) Griffith; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Richard “Dick” Shroyer and brother-in-law Charlie Duncan.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gary's life at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St, Coshocton, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. A time of visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service, which will take place at NewPointe Church, 23801CR 621, Coshocton, OH 43812 on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Aaron Dowell officiating.
