Charles Edward Worthington
Charles Edward Worthington, age 87, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. He was born on October 13, 1937, at his home in Tyndal to the late Charles and Mary (Morosko) Worthington.
Charlie joined the United States Army, serving 8 years before he was honorably discharged. He worked at Shaw Barton and was the owner and operator of Worthington’s Grocery Store in Conesville.
He was a member of the Coshocton Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Charlie also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. On May 23, 1994, he married Betty (Stutler) Worthington, who passed away on August 10, 2018.
Charlie is survived by his daughter Alisa (Shawn) Binning; his stepchildren, Pam (Ronnie) Wilson, Robin (Michael) Walters, Patty (David) Roof, Donna (Charlie) Kendall, and Butch (Julie) Smith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John Worthington; his son-in-law, Tim Guthrie; his niece, Deeann Worthington, and her son, Mason Guilliams, alongside a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.Along with his parents and wife, Charlie is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheryl Guthrie and brother, Bob Worthington.
Charlie lived at Altercare of Coshocton for the last 6 ½ years, where he enjoyed joking with the staff and chatting with his special friend, Jerry. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aids at Altercare for the excellent care and compassion shown to Charlie. Calling hours were held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service followed at Coshocton County Memory Gardens on Saturday at 11:30 AM. Charlie’s son-in-law, Pastor Mike Walter, officiated.
