Joyce LeeAnn Newman, 79, of Minerva, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Minerva Health & Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Philippi, West Virginia, to Joseph and Maybell Croston.

Joyce was a cherished member of her community and a devoted friend to many. Her life was a testament to her caring nature and unwavering dedication to those around her.
Her love for crocheting was well known among her friends and family, as she often created beautiful pieces that brought warmth and joy to those who received them. Southern gospel music filled her days and provided comfort and inspiration throughout her life.
Joyce proudly served as a caregiver at Mayle Homes, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many. Her nurturing spirit also extended to her role as a foster parent, where she provided a loving home to children in need.
Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was an active participant in her church, Church of God Saints in Christ, and in her community. Her dedication to her beliefs and her church family was evident in all she did.
Joyce is survived by two daughters: Teresa (Edward) Morris of Minerva and Annette (Mark) Mayle of Malvern; grandchildren: Kymberli (Joseph) Frazier, Emily (Andy) Butterfield, Joshua Mayle, Morgan (Robert) Roebuck and Alaina Butterfield; great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Owen, Paisley, Dawson and Parker; and a brother, Correl (Rita) Croston. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews, with special mention to Valerie Croston, Sheila Collins, and Dwayne and Ricky Newman. Special friends and caregivers include Deborah Briggs and Crystal Newman, as well as Pastor Christine Mayle, Pastor Ron Mayle and JR Croston.
A graveside service was held Monday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2698 Broadway Ave. NE, East Canton, with Ron Mayle officiating.
