Archie W. March
In Loving Memory of Archie W. March-deceased November 28, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Archie W. March. Born July 9, 1934, to Margaret and Wilbur March, Archie’s early years were filled with warmth, laughter, and curiosity. From a young age, he demonstrated a genuine kindness and an eagerness to help others, values that would guide him throughout his life.
Archie was a lifelong resident of Coshocton County and graduated from Fresno High School in 1952. While in school, he participated in basketball, baseball, and softball, which added to his love of the Cleveland Indians. While he was a dedicated worker throughout all his professional life, he spent most of his career with General Electric, having retired after 36 years of service in 1992. Through hard work, perseverance, and integrity, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his career, Archie was deeply committed to spending his free time within the Coshocton community. In addition to memberships with the American Legion, the Fraternal order of the Eagles, the Newcomerstown Elks, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Archie liked to spend his free time fishing, playing golf and bowling, and of course, watching the Buckeyes!
Known for his infectious laughter and boundless energy, Archie brought joy wherever he went. Friends and family recall countless fond memories, shared meals, long walks, heart-to-heart conversations that will be treasured always.
Archie is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Wilbur, his sister Linda L. Marhofer, his wife Dixie L. (Wiggins) March, and his longtime partner Marybelle Gowins.
He is survived by his sons Gregory March and Randal March (Nancy), his grandchildren Raylene March-Thompson (Jeremy) and Corey March (Stephanie), his step-grandchildren Rusty Holdsworth and Robbie Holdsworth, and numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild. In addition to his loving family, he had many devoted friends, and a community that mourns his loss. Archie’s memory will be cherished always.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Conesville Fire Department, P.O. Box 100, Conesville, Ohio 43811.
