Mary L. Young
Mary L. Young, 100, of Carrollton, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 17, 2025, at the Carroll Golden Age Retreat.
A daughter of the late George and Etta Marsh Brothers, she was born July 7, 1925, in Mechanicstown.
Mary retired from the Carrollton Schools cafeteria after 20 years. She was a member of Corinth Presbyterian Church in Mechanicstown and the TOPS Club. Dancing was a favorite pastime for Mary, especially square dancing.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Charlotte) Johnston; two daughters, Marjorie (Donald) Row and Joann (Ron) Dennis; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan “Mutt” Johnston; a daughter, Bonnie; three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services for Mary were held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Visitation was Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
