Katherine Joan Eakin, 81, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Akron General Hospital.
Katherine was born August 25, 1944, in Malvern, Ohio, to Anthony and Katherine (Matyas) Romano. She was raised in a large family of 10 siblings.
As a quality control manager in the auto parts industry, she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her colleagues admired her integrity and strong work ethic, which set a standard for those who worked alongside her.
Beyond her professional life, Katherine found immense joy in raising her family. She poured her heart into creating a nurturing and loving home, where she was a devoted mother and an inspiring role model. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she took great pleasure in preparing meals that brought her loved ones together around the table.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Thomas Eakin of Malvern; four daughters, Lisa (Jim) Gilliam of Fort Myers, Florida, Melissa Byrd of Malvern, Brandy (Scott) Bass of Malvern, and Aileen (Brian) Rogers of Findlay; two sons, James (Patrick Toy) Eakin of North Canton and Joseph (Claudia) Eakin of Massillon; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Payne.
