George Maurice Jones Sr.
George Maurice Jones Sr., 76, of Malvern, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
He was born July 23, 1949, in Bellevue to the late Virginia Collett.
George worked in the steel industry for many years as a ladle craneman, employed by U.S. Steel, Republic, and Timken. He was an avid bowler who loved his Friday night league. He also enjoyed music and collecting albums. A self-taught guitarist, he often spent hours playing. George also adored his cats.
He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Kevin) Masters of Malvern and Jennifer (Lee) Hlavacek of Canton; five grandchildren, Chase, Channing, Lucas, Ashley, and Carrington; many nieces and nephews; a brother, Redvers (Barb) Collett of Canton; a sister, Joan (Doug) Domineck of Canton; and his special love, Lisa Smith, who cared for George with devotion during their nine years together.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Jones Jr.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Gramma Tammy’s, 319 Nassau St. W., East Canton, Ohio 44730.
