Dale E. Lacher
Dale E. Lacher, 92, of Minerva, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025.
He was born Feb. 26, 1933, in Alliance to Herman and Hazel (Loomis) Lacher.
He graduated from Alliance High School.
Dale was a machinist for 60 years at Alliance Machine. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minerva and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved spending time riding his four-wheeler and taking care of his animals. He enjoyed going to auctions and watching sports on TV. He was always a hard worker and loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-granddaughter were the apple of his eye. Everyone knew him as Papa.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Finley) Lacher, who died in 1991; his sister, Dorothy Woods of Alliance; and two brothers, Lester and Norman Lacher.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Greg) Rinard of Medina; son, Steve (Eve) Lacher of Alliance; four grandchildren, Abbigail (Tyler) Goodnack, Hunter (Marissa) Rinard, Allison Lacher and Benjamin Lacher; and his great-granddaughter, Paislee Goodnack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Pastor Angel Jackson officiating.
Burial to follow in Fairmount Memorial Gardens in Alliance.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6–8 p.m. at the funeral home.
