He Still Sends Emails From Heaven
Albert Gingerich
Albert Gingerich, 96, of East Rochester, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, after a period of declining health.
He was born April 7, 1929, in Middlefield to Noah and Sara (Kauffman) Gingerich.
On May 19, 1949, Albert married Mary, and they shared 70 years of marriage.
He was a faithful member of Minerva Christian Fellowship in East Rochester, where he rarely missed an opportunity to worship his Savior and fellowship with his church family. Throughout his life, he was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and left a legacy of faith for his family. Albert was ordained a deacon in October 1965 at Zion Christian Fellowship Church in Middlefield and, after moving to Carrollton, served as a deacon at Amana Christian Fellowship in Pattersonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one son-in-law.
He is survived by 15 children: Robert (Kathryn) of Minerva; Noah of Carrollton; Olin (Ruth) of Huntsburg; Laura (John) Burford of East Rochester; Linda (Jonas) Yoder of Leon, Iowa; Philip of Carrollton; Monroe (Laveta) of Leon, Iowa; Miriam Gingerich Hostetler of Mesopotamia; Joe (Priscilla) of East Rochester; Nelson (Melody) of Richfield, Pennsylvania; Paul (Regina) of Hartwell, Georgia; Hannah (Rolin) Miller of Dugspur, Virginia; Eugene (Naomi) of Millersburg; Laban (Norma) of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania; and Joel (Dorcas) of Minerva; 74 grandchildren; 134 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 9457 Rochester Road, Minerva.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at Minerva First Christian Church, 300 W. Lincoln Way, Minerva, with Pastors Ray Yoder, Keith Gingerich and Johnny Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.
