Marilyn Mae (Unkefer) Royer, 90, went home to Jesus on June 11, 2025.
Marilyn resided in Stark County all her life. She grew up in Minerva and raised her family in Canton.
She was known for her honesty, compassion, and faithfulness to others. She was passionate about sharing her faith in Jesus. She enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening, drying flowers, sewing, antiques and music; in general, she loved nature and caring for others’ children.
Her love language was acts of service. In her younger years, she was involved in children’s and young teens’ programs, as well as coordinating the monthly senior citizen luncheons at Middlebranch Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in the U.S. and abroad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin Royer; sister, Bonnie Grogg; and brothers, Charles Unkefer, Eddie Unkefer, and Paul Unkefer.
She is survived by Kathy Royer of North Canton; Karen (John) Slabaugh of Hartville; Mark (Susan) Royer of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Kay Dawn Royer of Louisville; brother, Donald (Christine) Unkefer; four granddaughters; one grandson; two granddaughters-in-law; one grandson-in-law; and six great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Middlebranch Grace Brethren Church, 2911 Williams St. NE, Middlebranch, OH 44652, on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Visiting with family starts at 2 p.m., with the Celebration of Life to follow.
