Andy A. Raber

Andy A. Raber, 92, of Baltic, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He presumably passed away the night prior after having just celebrated his 92nd birthday.

He was born on December 13, 1933, to the late Andy A. and Mary Ann (Schrock) Raber. On December 31, 1953, he married Effie A. Schlabach who preceded him in death on February 10, 2023.

Andy was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained as deacon on September 26, 1997.

He is survived by his nephew, Paul (Wilma) Hershberger of Baltic; niece, Rhoda Hershberger of Baltic; great-nephew, Jeff (Miriam) Hershberger of the home and their children, Brent (special friend Karla), Grace, Abigail, Ethan, Seth and Joel; a sister-in-law, Mattie Yoder; as well as many nieces and nephews, church family, and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife Effie, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Henry, Elmer, Noah and Albert, and sisters, Susie, Ada, and Lucinda.

Funeral services were held at the Jeff Hershberger residence, 2051 SR 557, Baltic, on Wednesday, December 17, at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Joseph Miller officiated. Burial followed in the Troyer Cemetery. Friends were able to call at the Jeff Hershberger residence after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and any time on Tuesday.
