Butterfly release at Pomerene Hospital to honor loved ones
The annual Memory Garden Memorial and Butterfly Release will feature music, tributes and memorial stones
Pomerene Hospital is hosting its annual Memory Garden Memorial and Butterfly Release June 26. The memory garden is located behind the Amish House and the employee parking lot.
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m., with music beginning at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will include a devotional, special music, a tribute to Heaven’s babies, the placement of new memorial stones and the release of butterflies into Pomerene Hospital’s Memory Garden. The event will take place rain or shine, and those attending will be shaded under a tent. A dessert reception will immediately follow. All are welcome.
The memory garden, constructed in 2011, serves as a place where families can enjoy the garden's serenity and remember their loved ones.
The memory garden is a part of Pomerene Hospital’s Living Hearts bereavement program, which addresses the individual needs of families who have experienced the death of an infant at any stage of development. It provides an interdisciplinary approach to reach out to grieving families from the moment their baby passes away through the period of grieving.
For more information on the memorial and butterfly release, call Pomerene bereavement coordinator Toni Mishler at 330-674-1584, ext. 2190.
