Richard Harold Erow of
Cadiz, Ohio, passed away at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place at the age of 97.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, Harold and Marie Erow of Howard, Ohio; two brothers and two
sisters; one daughter and three sons; and his mother- and father-in-law, Homer
and Hazel Moreland.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years,
Nellie Moreland Erow; daughters Jackie (Bill) Stewart of Las Vegas, Judy
Stallings of Las Vegas, Joy (Bill) Barcroft of Cadiz, Jeanie (David) Saunders
of North Carolina, and Terry Vaughn of Florida; and son Jeff (Marianne) Erow of
Fredericktown. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as a sister, Helen
Lemaster of Mt. Vernon.
Although he had many grandchildren, special
mention goes to the four who called him PapPap: Clay (Douglas) Saunders, Cody
(Savannah) Barcroft, Tyler (Olivia) Saunders, and Megan Barcroft. He had the
joy of watching these children grow into the amazing adults they are today.
They spent countless hours with him over the years, each sharing a special
bond. He was immeasurably proud of all his children and cherished every phone
call, text, and visit.
Richard drove semi-trucks most of his life.
His daughters fondly remember sitting in the Super Duper parking lot waiting
for him to drive by—he would blow his horn and give his special wave, bringing
the biggest smiles to their faces. He was a longtime member of the First Church
of Christ, where he served as a deacon and bus driver, always ready to lend a
hand wherever needed. He was also named number one fan of I love FCC Facebook
page. Watching Sunday Service and sharing with his Facebook friends. He loved
riding motorcycles and continued to do so until he was 93, selling his prized
trike in 2024. He also participated in tractor pulls as the eldest member of
the Little Huskers Tractor Club. Another passion was restoring vintage cars
into show-stopping vehicles. He always had a hobby that kept him busy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December
12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 139 North
Main Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907. Visitation will also be held on Saturday,
December 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at
1:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ with Paul Giffin officiating. Burial
will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

Although we mourn the loss of our father, husband, and
grandfather, we find comfort knowing he is finally at peace. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to his favorite charity, the Harrison County
