Diana Swigert

WARSAW- Diana L. (Lonsinger) Swigert, 75, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Roscoe Gardens Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation following a long and courageous fight with cancer. She fought hard and endured many treatments over the years so that others diagnosed with cancer would benefit from her medical experiences and successes.

She was born on December 29,1949, in Coshocton County to the late Gerald and Nancy Lonsinger. Diana was proud to have grown up as a farm girl and developed a love of the outdoors, including flowers and plants. These interests led her to a 35-year employment at Roscoe Village in the Landscape Department. She especially enjoyed perennial gardening and Christmas decorating using natural items both at work and home. Over the years, she led many craft workshops at Roscoe Village. Artistically talented, she entered many of her creations at the county fair and made personalized items for family and friends throughout the years.

Diana was a 1967 graduate of River View Local Schools. She also attended Union and Tiverton schools. She was a member of Prairie Chapel Methodist Church, Roscoe Village volunteer, Town and Country Garden Clubs, Clary Gardens, and Florida Art Humanities Council. Diana enjoyed her life as a snowbird in Florida during the winters for many years. She was crowned Dairy Princess in high school.Diana is survived by a brother, Steve (Nancy) Lonsinger; a niece, Kate (Brandon) Couden; three nephews, Hans (Sarah) Lonsinger, Andrew (Chelsea) Fabrizio, and Steven (Kelsey) Fabrizio; six great nephews; three great nieces; two aunts, Dorothy Dalton and Margaret Lowe; as well as many cousins and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Douglas E. Swigert, sister, Susan Lonsinger, and by long term companion, Paul Marlatt.

A special thank you to Dr. Remster of Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care and Dr. Wagner of Genesis Oncology. Family would like to extend a special thanks to her close friends that visited, sent cards, or called Diana to check on her.

Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Pastor Carolyn Christman officiated. Burial followed in Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until service time at the funeral home. Following burial, a celebration of life with a light meal will be provided by the kind members of Prairie Chapel.
