Nina Vincent

Nina Vincent

Nina Christine Vincent, of Holmesville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, at 12:42 p.m., following long-fought health battles. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully made her way to Heaven.

Nina was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her and was truly a woman after God’s own heart. Kind, loyal, loving, and dependable, she lived as a reflection of Christ’s love. Through seasons of hardship, she faced each day with quiet determination, grace, and unwavering faith. She never allowed trials to harden her heart, instead responding with patience, perseverance, and compassion for others.

She met and married the love of her life, William Vincent, in 1958, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2014.

Born on September 6, 1931, Nina was raised in the Lakeville area and was one of seven children born to Benjamin and Delphia Newkirk, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Rex Newkirk, Beulah Horn, Vesta Ginther, Dick Newkirk, Lymon Newkirk, and Gene Newkirk.

In her early years, Nina worked as a telephone operator and later at BorgWarner, where she met William. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and neighbor, always placing family and faith at the center of her life.

Nina cherished time with her “Red Hat” ladies, but her greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and treasured every moment with them.

A faithful member of the Holmesville Church of Christ for more than 60 years, Nina served joyfully and believed serving others was a calling for everyone. She especially loved working in the church nursery and participating in Vacation Bible School, where her gentle spirit touched many lives.

Nina is survived by her four children: Rick Vincent, Ron Vincent, Randy Vincent (Maggie), and Ranee Brown (Carl); her seven grandchildren: Andrea Vincent, Carly Gessner (Connor), Kyle Vincent, Maddie Vincent, Connor Brown, Taylor Vincent, and Allye Vincent; and her three great-grandchildren: William Gessner, Waelyn Gessner, and Hadley Valadao.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holmesville Church of Christ. Friends were able to call Friday, January 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg, or one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Prairie Township Cemetery in Holmesville.
