Summer trail walks planned in Holmes, Wayne counties

Families can participate in June, July and August trail events

The Falls Prevention Program of Holmes & Wayne and the Standing Against Falls Coalition will host free trail walks in Berlin, Dalton and Nashville to encourage daily physical activity as a way to help prevent falls.

The Falls Prevention Program of Holmes & Wayne, under the direction of the Holmes County General Health District, and the Standing Against Falls Coalition are sponsoring summer trail walks to promote the importance of daily physical activity and exercise to help prevent falls.

The trail walks will be held at trail sites throughout Holmes and Wayne counties in June, July and August. Families are welcome, and no registration is needed.

In case of rain, listen to WKLM 95.3 FM or check the Holmes County General Health District Facebook page for cancellations.

The first walk will be held June 26 from 10-11 a.m. at Berlin Mennonite Church Trail, 4718 U.S. Route 62, Berlin.

The second walk will be held July 31 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Village Green Park, 41 S. Freet St., Dalton.

The final walk will be held Aug. 28 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Nashville Church of Christ Trail, 13457 state Route 39, Nashville.
