Mary S. Schlabach

Mary S. Schlabach, 75, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, December 21, 2025, following a short illness.

She was born on November 11, 1950, to the late Samuel and Verna (Yoder) Bowman. On September 20, 1973, she married David A. Schlabach who survives.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She was legally blind since 1971. Mary maintained an attitude of acceptance toward her situation and made many friends and connections over the years with others who also had disabilities.

In addition to her husband David, she is survived by her two daughters, Dena Marie (Leon) Wengerd of Mt. Hope, Betty (Edward) Kline of the home; eight grandchildren, Leon (Nikki) Wengerd, Alexis (Eli) Miller, LeAnne Wengerd, Jonathan, David, Matthew, Emily, and Maria Kline; brothers and sisters, Anna (Eli) Miller of Dundee, Clara (Dan) Yoder of Mt. Hope, Harvey (Nettie) Bowman of Dundee, Lizzie Ann (late Ben) Yoder of Farmerstown, Reuben (Verna) Bowman of Orrville, Dena (late Jonas) Troyer of Holmesville, Joseph (Fannie) Bowman of Mt. Hope, Melvin (Anna) Bowman of Mt. Hope; and sister-in-law, Verba (John) Weaver of Mt. Hope.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Samuel Bowman Jr. and William Bowman; and two brothers-in-law, Ben Yoder and Jonas Troyer.

Funeral services were held at the home, 6671 CR 203, Millersburg, on Tuesday, December 23, at 9:00 a.m. Bishop James Hershberger officiated. Burial followed in the Troyer Stutzman Cemetery. Friends were able to call at the home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and any time on Monday.
