John L. Hochstetler, 92, of Millersburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
He was born on March 17, 1933, to the late Levi and Mary (Miller) Hochstetler. On October 30, 1958, he married Anna Mae Stutzman who survives.
John was a member of the Amish Church. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed his cows and animals in general. He had lots of stories, enjoyed a good joke, and did lots of teasing with the grandchildren. Most Wednesdays would find him at the Mt. Hope Auction connecting with his friends and he also loved to fish at his family pond. Johnny was simply Johnny.
In addition to his wife Anna Mae he is survived by his children, Carol Hochstetler of Millersburg, Rita (Mark) Miller of Berlin and Joseph (Cindy) Hochstetler of Wooster; three grandchildren, Audrey, Haley and Landon Hochstetler; a brother-in-law, Mose (late Katie) Miller of Benton; and sisters-in-law, Martha (late Dan) Stutzman of Berlin and Ella (late Marvin) Shoup of Sugarcreek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; siblings, Ivan (Mattie) Hochstetler, Erma (Mart) Schlabach, Sara (Willis) Coblentz and Clara (Abe) Miller.
Funeral services were held at the Marion Miller residence, 6137 TR 331, Millersburg, on Saturday, December 27, at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Kyle Beachy officiated. Burial followed in the Hochstetler Cemetery. Friends were able to call at the Marion Miller residence after 10 a.m. on Friday.
