Weekly Blessing

The Lord never leaves you at all

In every season — from winter’s hush to life’s hardest stretches — faith offers steady hope, growth and the reminder that God remains near.

Snow, snow, let's have some more.

Gather 'round the campfire — have a s'more.

Maybe a snowman or two will show up,

Or a few minis in your hot chocolate cup.

It's white and glistens yet doesn't make a sound,

While falling gently to the ground.

There are some who prefer to stay indoors,

Hoping for a season of walking beach shores.

Now as the winter season takes its turn,

The others take a rest until their time to return.

If one season had all the show,

The others we wouldn't get to know.

There are some places just like that.

One season only throughout the yearly stat.

I'm thinking how plain that would be,

With no change or creativity.

Aren't you glad God allows changes for growth?

Each season brings with it new hope.

Each stage of life has challenges too.

Some may be rough while others just a few.

Some aches and pains come and go,

And some it seems that in going are slow.

Some seasons last longer than usual,

While waiting for the next to become visual.

Without that wait, we'd have no hope.

We'd get so bored trying to cope.

God gives variety in our day.

With each change, to God we can pray.

God has specific times for things.

Each has its purpose in what it brings.

If in each we depend upon the Lord,

We'll find that he is who our hearts long for.

When there's a season we don't like,

The Lord helps us in that season's hike.

He knows what training we need,

To keep us growing from that planted seed.

God has planned our life journey,

With infinite wisdom discerning.

He knows the beginning and the end,

And with his people, how to tend.

With the world in all its disarray ...

We can go to the Lord, confess and pray.

He is our maker and creator, you see,

Including this world, you and me.

Now about the season we're in …

Take these moments to enjoy and grin.

Don't complain because God is in control.

He knows the times and knows how to console.

If this season is not one you're enjoying,

Remember over you, the Lord is rejoicing.

Winter, spring, summer and fall,

In each the Lord never leaves you at all.
