Cassandra “Cookie” Witts, 72, of Carrollton, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 22, 2025, at the Truman Hospice House in New Philadelphia following an extended illness.

A daughter of the late William P. and Martha J. Burwell Lescalett, she was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Steubenville.

For 36 years, Cookie was a supervisor in the map office at the Carroll County Courthouse. She was a member of Herrington-Bethel Church near Augusta.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Garry; two children, Wendy (Rick) Stevens of Salineville and Kevin (Courtney) Witts of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild and one on the way; and a brother, Keith Lescalett.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Martin, and a sister, Darla Berry.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial followed in Augusta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
