Carol J. Van Horne
Carol Jean Van Horne,73 of Cadiz, passed away Friday October 24th at Trinty Medical Center in Steubenville surrounded by her Family. She was born February 3rd, 1952, the daughter of the late John and Violet (Nurse)Hamilton of Carrollton. On February 1st, 1982, Jean married John Van Horne, Sr with whom she Shared 30 years of marriage before His death on May 8th, 2012. Some of Jeans’ favorite pastimes were going to auctions with John and hosting card parties at their home in New Rumley, playing bingo and watching The Pittsburgh Steelers especially when her Son brought dinner and watch the games with her. Jean also loved her beloved Corgi dog Lady, her constant companion. Jean was a homemaker but had previously been employed by Case Farms Winesburg, OH. and the Cadiz McDonald's.
Jean is survived by Her children Angela Walker of Wampum PA, John “Buddy” Van Horne, Jr of Cadiz and Dorothy Daniska of Tilitonsville, brother Donald Hamilton of Salineville, many grandchildren, two great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life dinner will be held on November 8th at 12 noon at the American Legion, Scio all are welcome to attend.
