Townes Gingerich
Townes Vance Gingerich, 8-month-old son of Merlin and Rebecca (Hershberger) Gingerich, of Big Prairie OH, without any fear of death, entered the arms of Jesus on Friday, November 21, 2025, and is now waiting for us to join him in eternal rest.
He was born in New Bedford, OH, on April 1, 2025, with Noonan syndrome and faced many early challenges in life. He bravely and without complaint endured the challenges before leaving us so suddenly. We consider every day we spent with him as a precious gift from our Heavenly Father. Words cannot express his testimony to our lives for the past eight months.
In addition to his parents, Townes is survived by his siblings, Cameron, Grace, Talon, and Logan; paternal grandparents, David and Mary Gingerich of Summertown, TN; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Fannie Hershberger of Glenmont; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tex Griffitts; aunt, Melissa Diane Gingerich; uncles, Jamon David Gingerich and Benjamin Jon Gingerich; and a cousin, Selah Rose Miller.
Funeral services were held at Messiah Amish Mennonite Church, 5237 SR 557, Millersburg, on Monday, November 24, at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Perry Yoder officiated. Burial followed in the Zion Church Cemetery. Friends were able to call at Messiah Amish Mennonite Church from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday.
A special thank-you to the staff at Akron Children’s Hospital and the New Leaf Center in Mt. Eaton for helping Townes through his health challenges. A heartfelt thank-you to our church, friends, and community for the outpouring of love and generosity through this past year. We are deeply grateful.
