Loudonville Public Library announces June programs
Summer reading, crafts and family events are planned
Loudonville Public Library will offer a variety of June programs for children, teens and adults including its Summer Reading Program, summer lunches, dinosaur-themed activities, book discussions, crafts and family events.

The 2026 Summer Reading Program, themed “Unearth a Story,” will run June 1 through July 18. People of all ages are invited to read, attend programs and earn prizes. Sign-up will begin June 1.
The library will offer summer food service from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 1 through Aug. 7. Children age 0-18 can pick up a free grab-and-go lunch at the library while supplies last. The program is provided by the Ohio Department of Education and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
The Summer Reading Kickoff Party will be held from 5-7 p.m. June 1 at Central Park. The event will include food trucks, bounce house slides, balloon animals, the Traveling Acres Petting Zoo, cotton candy, craft stations and more.
Storytime will be held at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Tuesdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. The interactive program is for children age 2-5 and includes stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts. Caregivers must be present, and younger siblings are welcome. Sign-up is required, and each session is limited to 14 children.
Teen Take & Makes: Dinosaur Clay Fossil will begin June 3. Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade can pick up a craft kit at the youth desk to complete at home. Kits are available first come, first served, and participants also may call the library to reserve one.
DinOlympics will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 4. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade will compete in teams through fast-paced, Minute-to-Win-It-style dinosaur games. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 16 participants.
Book Club To-Go will begin June 8 with “The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah. Participants may pick up a monthly kit with a book, discussion questions and an activity to do on their own time while supplies last.
A Stuffed Animal Workshop will be held from 6-7 p.m. June 8. Children will put together and take home their own dinosaur plush. This is a drop-in program, but registration is required. The program is limited to 38 participants.
Teen & Adult Bingo will be held at 6 p.m. June 9. Teens and adults can play several rounds of Bingo for Books for a chance to win books as prizes.
Teen Take-Home Dessert Kit: Dinosaur Pudding Dirt Cups will begin June 10. Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade can pick up a recipe kit at the youth desk to complete at home. Kits are available first come, first served, and participants also may call the library to reserve one.
LEGO Dino Eggspedition will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 11. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade will work in teams to find hidden dinosaur eggs and use them to build LEGO dinosaurs. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 16 participants.
An Ice Cream Social at the Perrysville Branch Library kiosk will be held from 1-2 p.m. June 12. Visitors can get ice cream and learn about the kiosk while supplies last.
Freddy Fossil’s Dino Show will be held at 6 p.m. June 15. The audience-interactive program brings dinosaurs, science and all things Jurassic to life.
Clay Diffuser Stones will be held at 6 p.m. June 16. Participants will learn how to shape and design simple clay diffuser stones that can be paired with essential oils. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 20 participants.

Who Would Win: Dino Edition will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 18. Inspired by the “Who Would Win” book series, children in third grade through sixth grade will compare dinosaurs using facts, discussion and imagination to decide which dinosaurs would win in head-to-head matchups. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 12 participants.
A Mohican State Park hike will be held at 10 a.m. June 19, weather permitting, at Mohican State Park Campground, 3116 state Route 3, Loudonville. Participants will meet at the campground visitor center for a guided hike to the Swing Bridge led by a park naturalist. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
The Adult Book Discussion will be held at 11 a.m. June 19 in the Golden Center. This month’s book is “The Women” by Kristin Hannah. Books are available at the circulation desk one month before the discussion. New members are welcome.
Spice Club will begin June 22. Participants can pick up a take-home kit with a monthly spice, information about its history and recipes while supplies last.
The Dino-Ventures Family Show will be held at 6 p.m. June 22. The interactive program features live singing, a larger-than-life raptor and two baby dinosaurs.
Design a Dino Terrarium will be held at 6 p.m. June 23. Participants will create small terrariums featuring plants, decorations and dinosaur figures. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 18 participants.
Dinosaur Silhouette Art will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 24. Those in sixth grade through 12th grade will create a canvas painting of a sunset dinosaur landscape. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 12 participants.
Jurassic Science Lab will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 25. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade will explore volcanic eruptions, crack open geodes and make a sediment-inspired sweet treat. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 16 participants.
Firetruck Spray will be held at 6 p.m. June 29 with the Loudonville Fire Department. Children can play as the truck sprays water and then get a Popsicle. Participants are encouraged to bring a towel and a change of clothes.
Americana Rug Painting will be held at 6 p.m. June 30. Participants will create a red, white and blue rug for America’s birthday. Sign-up is required, and the program is limited to 20 participants.
