Linda Carpenter
Linda Robinson Carpenter, 75, of New Port Richey, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on August 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Born in Absecon, New Jersey, Linda was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle Robinson. She attended Taylor University and Ohio Northern University, where she met and married her college sweetheart, George Carpenter, on June 20, 1970. The two shared over 55 years of marriage marked by deep love, respect, and an unwavering commitment to faith and family.
Linda began her career as an elementary school teacher, but her greatest role was being a mother. She was the heartbeat of her home and poured herself into every responsibility- whether as a Girl Scout leader, PTA president, youth leader, event planner, or simply as “mom” to many beyond her own children. Her home was always open, her table full, and her laughter contagious.
She loved adventure and approached life with courage, from remodeling the family farmhouse to swimming in a lake with her walker. She had a rare gift for turning everyday moments into joyful memories.
Linda lived out her faith with boundless generosity and hospitality. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Berlin, Ohio, and later First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, she joyfully served in ministries that reflected her love for God and people.
She is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Charity (George) Bennett; grandchildren William, Ava, Ella, Jack, and Johanna; brother, Carl (Terri) Robinson; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sons Joshua (24) and Jonathan (2 weeks), her son-in-law Derek Taatjes, and her grandson Dylan Taatjes.
A celebration of life service will be held to remember Linda in Ohio on Sunday, September 14, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist of Berlin, 4876 SR 39, Millersburg, OH 44654.
