Dan J. Yoder
Dan J. Yoder “Diesel Dan”, 83, of Walnut Creek, Ohio, passed away at the Akron City Hospital on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from complications of a stroke.
He was born on March 11, 1942, to the late Jonas D. and Susie (Mast) Yoder. On November 9, 1967, he married Lydie Ann Miller who survives.
Dan was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was a retired diesel mechanic and currently worked at Carlisle Printing. He will be missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Lydie Ann he is survived by his six children, Mary Esther (Daniel) Hershberger of Millersburg, David (Alma) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Ray (Barbara) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Allen (LuAnn) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Ivan (Fannie Mae) Yoder of the home, Arlene (Owen) Miller of Holmesville; 35 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Verna (Ervin) Smucker of Sugarcreek, Eli (Ella) Yoder of Apple Creek, Esther (Levi) Swartzentruber of Apple Creek; and brother-in-law, Marion (late Fannie) Schrock of Millersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Naomi; two grandchildren, Abigail Yoder, and Alex Yoder; a brother, Roman Yoder; and three sisters, Barbara Yoder, Fannie Schrock, and Clara Yoder.
Funeral services will be held at the home, 3913 CR 114, Sugarcreek, on Thursday, March 5, at 9 a.m. with Minister Wayne A. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 2 p.m. on Tuesday and any time on Wednesday.
