Patricia James, age 94, a longtime resident of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was born at home, in Middlebranch, Ohio, on May 16, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Coffy and Vida (Immel) Coffy. She had a brother, William Coffy and a half sister, Jenny (Roger) Hall. Pat was an employee of Dime Bank in 1949. She later was employed by Akron Savings and Loan, Hartville Village and Zellers Green House. Pat retired from Hartville Village in 2005. On October 20,1951, she married William Weirich and later had four boys, Craig (Cindy) Weirich, Jeff (Brenda) Weirich, Todd (Cheryl) Weirich and Daniel (Joann) Weirich. William passed away on July 11, 1964. Pat raised the boys on her own after William's death and did not marry again until July 3, 1973, when she married Richard James. Richard passed away on December 29,1994.
Pat lived life to the fullest. In her younger years she played piano for the Church of the Brethren in Middlebranch. She enjoyed vacationing and playing cards with family, especially beating her sons in Saturday night Joker. She loved having grandchildren over to the house, which she had fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She vacationed yearly to Frankenmuth, Nashville, and Myrtle Beach where she enjoyed beating her grandchildren in putt putt golf (She might have been a little bit competitive). Pat and Richard were also enthusiastic McKinley basketball fans.
Funeral services will be held at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave NW, North Canton) on Wednesday September 10, 2025, at 1:00pm. Pastor Stephen Below is officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
