Concerns raised over potential data centers in Harrison County
Charles H. Wenner Jr.
Charles H. “Butch” Wenner, Jr., 74, formerly of Cadiz, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday Feb 3, 2026, at Sunnyslope Care Center in Bowerston, Ohio. He was born in Barnesville, OH on January 15, 1952, to the late Charles H. and Ruth (Copeland) Wenner.
Butch was a 1971 graduate of Jewett High School. He was a member of the 4H program for many years where his interest in electronics began, and he won many ribbons with his projects. After graduation he attended electronics school in Akron, OH. He married Susan K. Katona on September 30, 1978, and they were married 35 years until Susan’s death in 2013. The pair enjoyed attending the Steubenville Assembly of God Church together prior to Susan’s passing.
He was retired from the Cardinal Plant and had his own electrical repair business for many years.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents and wife by his in-laws, Louis and Amy Katona.
He is survived by his sisters Linda Wenner and Mary Ellen (Craig) Haney. He has several nephews and one niece and many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Sunnyslope Care Center for the excellent care that they have given Charles in last few years.
A graveside service with the family will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Cadiz Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
