Roger E. Beighley

Roger E. Beighley, age 80, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born February 18, 1945, to the late Homer and Esther (Eckelberry) Beighley in Uhrichsville, Ohio.

He was a 1963 graduate of Port Washington. From 1965-1969, Roger served in the United States Air Force. He also worked for the Ohio Central Railroad as an engineer for exactly twenty-two years, six months, and two weeks.

Roger was a lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist Church, as well as a member of Kiwanis. He was also a Charter Member and President of the Coshocton Model Railroad Club for 30+ years. Recently, he also became a member of the Zanesville Model Railroad Club. Roger was an avid railroad photographer who has over seven decades of train photos. He loved spending time with family and reading books on the railroad. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Bryan Beighley of Coshocton, Ohio and Brett (Marci) Beighley of Wexford, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Strattyn (Kate), Ruby, and Lucy; his nephew, Chris Popadak of Dayton; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Larry Beighley and Bernard Beighley; and his sister, Mildred Popadak.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11 AM. Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiated. Burial took place at Union Cemetery in Port Washington with the Newcomerstown Veterans Council Honor Guard conducting military honors. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
