River View students advance to state

River View High School excels at Zane State math competition, heading to state finals March 7.

Seventh grade and eighth grade students who competed were Zach Copenhaver, Colt Fowler, Bryce Hogue, Garrett Hogue, Kolten McKee, Jake Miller, Lennox Miller, Shahmeer Saeed, Cam Shrimplin, Olivia Stone, Juanita Troyer and Owen White.

Sixth-graders on the team were Rogan Cohen, Ian Davidson, Grayson Endsley, Laylan Fitch, Athena Gallentine, Laramie Massie, Gavin Miller, Caden Renner, Karson Richardson and Emma St. George.

MATHCOUNTS provides math programs to U.S. middle school students (sixth grade through eighth grade) of all ability levels to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem-solving.

River View High School students participated at Zane State College in the chapter competition Feb. 12 with 107 students and 11 surrounding schools.

The RV team will compete at state as a team and individually Saturday, March 7.
