Many divorces involve a family unit. Roughly one-third of divorces and dissolutions in Coshocton County are families with minor children.
Beginning in March, Emily Marrison, family and consumer sciences educator, will offer free, in-person classes to any co-parent wanting to gain more skills and resources to be the best co-parent they can.

Successful Co-Parenting is a 90-minute class designed to equip parents with the knowledge, skills and strategies to help their children adjust to divorce now and in the future. In the Successful Co-Parenting class, participants learn about three areas. These relate to the individual themselves, their relationship with their children and their relationship with the co-parent moving forward. The class covers the importance of healthy communication with their child and their co-parent.
These classes will be offered quarterly Tuesday, March 10; Wednesday, June 3; Monday, Sept. 14; and Thursday, Nov. 12. Each class will be from 5:30-7 p.m. in the county services building in Coshocton. Visit coshocton.osu.edu or call Marrison at OSU Extension with questions at 740-622-2265.
