This is the truth promise

Exploring the spiritual significance of the cross in Holmes County through Angela Chapman's reflections.

The cross still stands today.

It never, ever went away.

It has the beckoning words of, "It is finished,"

Where death lost its battle and took sin with it.

This cross is redeeming with a cleansing blood and pure.

It heals and comforts with a forgiving and everlasting cure.

The cross is the place where sin's debt was satisfied,

By a savior named Jesus, upon that cross who was crucified.

This cross holds the answers to every life woe.

It's the only way to heaven you need to know.

Its strength and refuge hold one up when storms roll in,

From Jesus' everlasting arms and a whispered, "Peace within."

When fierce waves are crashing with deepened sorrows,

Jesus is there in our present and in our tomorrows.

When the noise is too loud with no seeming end,

The Lord speaks his peace as our dearest, understanding friend.

When the unexplained doesn't make sense,

God, whose ways are higher, gives recompense.

When the notes are too high and too far out of reach,

We needn't worry because Jesus fixed the broken breach.

With wings as eagles we shall mount up and soar.

Renewing strength in waiting comes from the Lord.

In the palms of God's hands, he holds us there,

As we cast upon him every burden and care.

"Be of good cheer. I've overcome the world," Jesus said.

Through every valley, God's children by him are led.

Jesus will never leave us or forsake.

This is the truth promise Jesus did make.
