February is always a special time at Wooster City Schools, as we brighten the winter months with a focus on connection, generosity and the simple power of kindness. This year our students and staff turned those values into action during Random Acts of Kindness Week, participating in spirit days and showing how small gestures can ripple through our community.
Each school embraced Random Acts of Kindness Week in creative and meaningful ways. Preschoolers shared encouraging messages through Hallway Hearts, transforming hallways into colorful displays of positivity and kind words. At the elementary level, students engaged enthusiastically with daily challenges including making handmade cards for teachers and classmates and practicing inclusion on the playground.

At Wooster High School, kindness took a digital form. Students tracked both the acts they performed and those they witnessed using a dedicated Google Form. From holding doors and offering a friendly smile to sharing supplies or listening when a friend needed support, our students demonstrated that noticing and amplifying kindness can have a meaningful impact on the people around them.
While Random Acts of Kindness Week provides an exciting burst of energy, the spirit of kindness is truly a year-round culture at Wooster. I’m proud to share our One Million Acts of Kindness initiative has now surpassed 400,000 acts. Every kind word or helpful gesture contributes to a larger wave of positivity across our schools.
I encourage everyone in the Wooster community to continue celebrating and recording acts of kindness, big or small, through our online submission form. Sharing these stories not only recognizes the generosity around us, but also inspires others to keep the momentum going.
Let’s continue to be the ripple, start the wave and spread kindness every day. Thank you to everyone who contributes to making Wooster City Schools such a caring place to learn.
