Larry McCully, 86, of Minerva, Ohio, passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, surrounded by loved ones.

Born Dec. 9, 1939, in Carrollton, Larry was the son of the late Ralph and Romaine (Bates) McCully.

He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1957 and went on to enjoy a dedicated career with American Electric Power, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring.

A longtime resident of the area, Larry was a proud member of Minerva Eagles 2199. He also gave generously of his time as a volunteer at the Algonquin Mill Festival, contributing to the preservation and celebration of local history and community traditions.

Larry is survived by his son, Michael McCully; grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan; and sisters, Peg Slates McDonald, Ruth (John) Davis, and Martha (Bob) McCort.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kristen Kay Stevenson; his brother, Chauncey McCully; and his sisters, Dorothy Haugh and Janet Lehman.

Funeral services for Larry were held Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at noon at Dodds Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rich Dawson officiating.

Visitation was Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Burial took place in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.
