Richard “Bruce” Davis, 66, of Cadiz, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Valley Hospice Center North in Steubenville, Ohio. Bruce was born January 19, 1960 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a son of the late Roger and Jean Davis.
Bruce was a 1978 graduate of Cadiz High School where he played football and wrestled. He worked for Cravat for a few years and then went to work for ODOT as a surveyor and retired after 30 years.

During the 1980s and 90s he was a member of the Cadiz V.F.D. and then was an honorary member. He coached T-ball and softball while his daughters were growing up. He was a member of the Cadiz Eagles Aerie #2162 where he served as Treasurer, Sons of the Legion at Cadiz Legion Post #34 and the Cadiz High School Boosters and then Harrison Central High School Boosters.
Bruce enjoyed life. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, football and baseball. He was a Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan for life. He would drop everything at a moment’s notice and help anyone that asked. Anywhere he went, he was sure to meet new people and make friends.
His favorite pastime could range from Jamboree in the Hills to the Coal Festival in Cadiz. He leaves behind many memories for a lot of people and will forever be known as the “Weenie Man” for golf outings and cooking in his bare feet.
Bruce is survived by his two daughters: Megan (Jim DiBenedetto) Davis and Andrea (Alyssa) Davis; his granddaughter, Harper DiBenedetto; three siblings: Paula (Gary) Savage, Wayne (Connie Kuhlwein) Davis and Dale (Nancy Ryan) Davis; and two nieces: Michele (Mike) Sliva and and Angie (Colby) Dearth.
Per his request, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family is being assisted by Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
