KEENE- Wilma Jean (Kanuckle) Lawrence, 87, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Altercare of Coshocton.

She was born September 1, 1938, in Coshocton, to the late Wilbur Shepard and Cynthia Angelia (Shannon) Kanuckle. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956 and was married 66 years to the love of her life, Hugh Franklin “Skip” Lawrence, from January 25, 1958, until his death on September 15, 2024.

Jean loved gardening, playing Bingo and cards, and having a cup of coffee with her neighbors. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and collecting recipes. Most of all, her love for her family came before everything else.

She is survived by two children, Hugh (Michelle) Lawrence Jr. of Keene, and Cindy (Doug) Lawrence Masteller of Macedonia; granddaughters, Shelby (Josh) Schlupp, and Delaney Masteller; grandsons, Scott Masteller, Tommy Masteller, and Jesse (Kristin) Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Briar, Layla & KJ Lawrence, Owen, Mable & Maisley Schlupp, and Rowan Masteller; and a niece, Christine Sycks.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Homer Lawrence; a sister, Sara Raye Neace; and two nephews, Kelly & Ray Neace.Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Pastor Sheila Kent officiated. Burial followed in Keene Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. FischerFuneralHome.com
