Susanna Broden

CARMEL, IN- Susanna (Horn) Borden, 86, of Carmel, Indiana, went to be with our Lord August 31, 2025.

Susanna was born October 9, 1938, in Coshocton County to the late Charles C. G. Horn and Rebecca (Williams) Horn. She was a 1956 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Ohio. She later attended Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio.

She worked for the Social Security Administration and later worked as a Dietician for Venice Hospital in Venice, Florida, and for Coshocton Memorial Hospital in Coshocton, Ohio. She was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star, Muskingum Chapter 485, and she was a member of the Walhonding Church of Christ.

Susanna grew up in Walhonding, Ohio. Over the years, she was able to reside in several states and countries including Ohio, Washington, Oklahoma, Florida, Indiana, and Indonesia. No matter what state or country she lived in, she made many friends and easily adapted to where she was living. In her later life, she enjoyed golfing, playing cards, playing mahjong, travelling, and of course visiting her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Susanna is preceded in death by her first husband, Myron L. Hartsook of Indonesia; her husband, Thomas M. Borden of Carmel, Indiana; her brother, Harold Horn of Walhonding, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her great grandchild, Denver Baldonado of Moore, Oklahoma.

Susanna is survived by her brother, Barton Horn and sister-in-law Sue (Hayes) Horn of Mount Vernon, Ohio; four sons, Douglas and wife Patricia Hartsook of Yukon, Oklahoma; Curtis and wife Mylene Hartsook of Carmel, Indiana; Timothy and wife Nova Hartsook of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Michael and wife Donie Hartsook of Wesson, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by three stepdaughters and one stepson.

Susanna will be buried with her beloved husband Thomas at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw, Ohio on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements, FischerFuneralHome.com.
