Robert Russell Easton, June 21, 1943 – June 10, 2025, Robert “Bob” Russell Easton was born in San Mateo, California, to Russell Sage Easton and Orpha Pauline Phillips. He cherished his California childhood, fondly recalling trips to San Francisco with his mother, summer adventures while parents were at work, and time spent with his sister, DeAnne.
As a child, Bob’s family moved to Ohio, where he graduated from Conesville High School in 1961 and married Junetta Ann Slaughter. Together they raised five children: Leslie Kay (Jeff Clark), Michelle Renee (Steve Hock), Annette Suzanne (Dave Carter), Kimberly Ann (Cary Martin), and Robert Eric (Melanie Larkin). His children blessed him with 23 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Though Bob and Junetta later divorced, they remained respectful and kind to one another, a gift their children deeply appreciated.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army beginning in 1971, where he trained and taught radar technology at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and later served in Fort Ord, California and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. While stationed in Hawaii, he earned a Bachelor of Science from Chaminade University, followed by a master's in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and finished Phd coursework at United States International University in California.
His professional life centered on helping others. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, he served communities in Massachusetts, Arkansas, California, and Arizona, dedicating his final decades to working with children, families, and veterans in northern Arizona.
In 2012, Bob married Jacqueline Vaughn, and together they made a warm and welcoming home in Sedona, Arizona. They shared a love of travel, football, remodeling homes, and the beauty of the desert. Bob’s passions included classic cars, history—especially World War II—and the ocean.
Despite health challenges, he lived life fully and gratefully, traveling to China, Europe, and his beloved Grand Teton National Park. Above all, he will be remembered for his deep love of family, his humor, and his unwavering compassion for others.
